Becky Moore sits down with Sit. Write. Bleed.

Hail and hello again! This is SWB's first interview with an author and I am pleased to say that my guest is accomplished Romance author Becky Moore! Hailing from North Carolina, Becky has been published in multiple formats and at multiple houses, including Decadent Publishing, Evernight Publishing, and XOXO Publishing. A member of Romance Writers of America, she was kind enough to sit down with me and discuss her career, her views on today's shifting book markets, and the Romance genre.

Welcome to Sit. Write. Bleed.

Hail and Hello! My name is Jay Requard and you're reading the very first post of my new author's blog, Sit. Write. Bleed. If you are reading this, no, the world didn't end. At least not today.

For those of you who may be confused about the title, this blog takes it's name from a quote by one of my favorite authors, Ernest Hemingway, who once said "There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit at a typewriter and bleed." This quote I believe is apt to my blog, as I hope to demonstrate my passions for writing, publishing, fantasy, and more specifically, Sword and Sorcery, a genre of fantasy I have been in love with since I was sixteen years old and discovered the works of Robert E. Howard, the author of Conan of Cimmeria, Kull of Atlantis, and many other grand characters, as well as the works of Lin Carter and Fritz Leiber, both of whom I discovered in  Flashing Swords #1.

My favorite hero

Yet this site is more than just another author's blog-- yes, I will write about the process of writing fantasy fiction, I will wax poetic about the things in modern culture I love, but I want to bring to you more than that. Sit. Write. Bleed. is an experience, where I try to go out and shed light on other contemporary writers of all genres, asking the questions a lot of people wish they could ask before they started on their journey as a writer. Yes, I will promote my work when there is work to promote, but I want people to come here and feel like they can have a conversation with me, my guests who may post here sometimes, and talk about all the goods things in life. With that said, this blog will have weekly schedule:

Week 1: I will write an article on Sword and Sorcery, Fantasy, Publishing, the process of writing, etc. This introduction entry is Week One (12.21.12--Take that Mayans!)

Week 2: A conversation with an author (when I can find them and they accept), which will be done through a Youtube channel and formatted in a sit-down recorded interview. The interview will cover 10 prepared questions, two questions that formed during the interview and questions taken from the comments section, if any. If you want to know something, ask it and I will try my best to get it in front of the author!

Week 3: An article on pop-culture entitled "I Love...", which will be just a place for me to share with you the things I love. I am into a lot of things ranging from martial arts, swords, politics, beer, comic books, heavy metal music, and other assorted subjects. There will be no negativity in these articles, as I read too much of it on the internet already, and at this point do we really need anymore?

Week 4:  This entry will be a type of newsletter in that it will be the place I openly promote my work, wrap up the last three weeks with links to those individual pages, and try to give you an idea of what is coming next. Short, sweet, and to the point.

Well, this is it for now. Again, thank you for visiting Sit. Write. Bleed., and please click "like" to the right or subscribe to the left with your email, if you wish to do so, or join "The Grinders", the finest company of fantasy fans in the world, or they will be... At some point I am hoping we can do things like giveaways and contests, and those will be done through the subscriptions and memberships. You can also follow me on:
